Our speaker for the August 12 meeting was Leonard Green. His topic of discussion was Toastmasters - the purpose of the organization, the progressive steps of progression, club structure and the affordability of membership. If you would be interested in joining a club, or think that Kingsville needs to start a club, you can email Leonard for more information.

What is Toastmasters?
No, we don't make toasters! Toastmasters International is an organization that has grown to become a world leader in helping people become more competent and feel more comfortable speaking in front of an audience.
Toastmasters are members of a Club comprised of approximately 20 people that meets weekly for an hour or two. Participants practice and learn communication and leadership skills by filling meeting roles, for example giving a prepared speech, giving an impromptu speech, or giving an oral evaluation of a fellow member's speech. There is no instructor. Instead, each speech as well as the meeting are critiqued by a member in a positive manner, focusing on what was done right and suggestions for improvement.
