Monty Chamberlain, Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services

Monty Chamberlain is the Employment Recruitment Coordinator for the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS).  In this role, Mr. Chamberlain is responsible for networking with employers across the state of Texas to share information about the many values disabled individuals can bring to an employer.  Mr. Chamberlain serves as a link between employers and service providers such as Coastal Plains Community Center to increase integrated employment opportunities for disabled individuals.  Mr. Chamberlain has 32 years of state government experience having worked for the Texas Department of Transportation for 18 years in business leadership roles, followed by working for  DADS for the last 14 years in facility operations and business leadership.  
In this presentation, Mr. Chamberlain will share information with attendees about the DADS Employment Recruitment Coordinator project and benefits to businesses of hiring persons with disabilities in the form of productivity, commitment and strategic scheduling to meet peak demand periods in the business. Mr. Chamberlain will also share a recently developed DADS video and discuss the participation form which can produce free publicity for businesses on the DADS website.
